Casimir, Kian, Amara and Avalee were all sitting together in awkward silence. Each of them had a small knifes hidden in there cloths. It had gotten dark about an hour ago, and they were all waiting. After a while, Casimir finally broke the silence.
“Something’s wrong.” He said with worry in his voice.
“I think your right.” Said Amara.
“Do you think Blagden…” Kian started, but trailed off, not wanting to finish his thought.
“No.” Avalee stood up. “How could you even think such a thought?” She paused. “Though I must admit, something does feel wrong.”
Just then, the door to the deck burst open and a crewmate walked in. He clomped right up to Casimir and grabbed him roughly by the arm.
“Oy, your needed above deck.” He said as he yanked him towards the door. Casimir didn’t resist, he was used to such treatment. The three stood there sadly, unable to do anything about it.
Once Casimir was above deck, he was met with a furious Blagden.
“That brat went and loosed all my boats! How we s’posed to attack them ships now?!” He yelled at Casimir, as if the whole thing was his fault.
“Oy, Cap’in, we got that ol rowboat down in storage.” Said one of his crewmates
Blagden thought for a moment, then he spoke.
“Ay, I s’pose that’ll have to work. Go fetch it then, will ya?!” He barked. The he turned back to Casimir and pointed to a large pile of wood planks.
“You get to buildin some new boats.” He said
“Captain, sir, it’s already dark, how many boats will you be needing?” Casimir asked timidly
“I don’t care if it’s dark! You’ll be workin till all nine of my boats are made, understand?!” He bellowed
“N-nine, sir?” Casimir asked, a bit shocked.
“Yes, nine. We had ten, and she left one, but we’ll be usein that one right now. Now get to it, boy!” He said, shoving Casimir aside as he made his way to the last boat.
Casimir obediently walked to the pile of wood. He looked at what he had to work with. It would take months to build all these boats. He sighed but started to the storeroom, where his tools were kept.
The sun was warm and bright. And there was Hali, basking in the beautiful light in a strange, wooded land. Casimir, Kian, Amara, and Avalee were there too. They walked together through this forest. Though it was warm, there was a small layer of powdery snow on the ground. As they walked, only one set of footprints was left behind them. They came across an old abandoned well. A little boy was leading an older girl by the hand to the well. Then suddenly, the whole scene changed. They were walking through a cold, dark hall, and there were four of them. One was gone. Sobs echoed though the halls, but not sobs of sadness. Then it changed again, and she saw her father, but not the father she knew. It was pitch black, and only a faint glow of light could be seen around her father. He was holding the Dragon-tooth dagger in one hand, and the other hand was outstretched to her. She didn’t take his hand, instead, she ran. She ran and ran until she collapsed.
Then she woke up. She was still tied up alone int the empty room. She was panting and sweating, her hands shaking.
“It was only a dream.” She told herself.
Everything felt like it was becoming smaller. She had to get out of here. She began struggling to untie her bonds once again. She twisted and turned her hands and feet until they were raw. She looked around again, and suddenly got and idea. She scooted her way to the wall and slammed the chair into it. One leg broke off and she fell to the ground hard.
Casimir was in the storeroom gathering his tools when he heard a loud *thud* coming from the room beside him. Curious, he went to investigate the sound. He pressed his ear to the door and heard someone talking. He thought it sounded like Hali. Then he heard her insulting a chair’s mother. There was no doubt, it was Hali.
“Hali? Is that you?” He asked in a loud whisper.
Hali froze.
“Who are you?” She yelled
“Shhh! Keep your voice down. It’s me, Casimir. Are you ok?”
“Does it sound like I’m ok?!” She said trying to sound cool, although she was glad to know he was there.
“I’ll get you out, just wait.” He said. He ran back into the storeroom, looking for something to pick the lock with.
He quickly grabbed two small nails that would be perfect for picking locks. He ran back to the door and began carefully picking the lock. Blagden and his crew had gone to attack the incoming ships, bust since there were only two boats, more men had to stay behind, so he had to be very quiet. After trying for a while, he managed to unlock the door. He ran over and, with the knife he still had hidden, he cut the bonds that held Hali.
“Took you long enough.” Said Hali as she rubbed her wrists.
“Your welcome.” Casimir smiled. “So Blagden did this to you?”
“Yes.” She replied
“Why?” He asked
“Don’t matter. All that matters now is getting outta here.” She said simply
“How are we going to do that?” He asked
With that, a new plan began to form in Hali’s mind. It was much riskier, but if this didn’t work, nothing would. She stood up and extended a hand to Casimir.
“Do you trust me?”
Sorry I've been taking so long! Hope you like this chapter!
She insulted the chair's mother 😂😂😂
How does Blagden expect one small boy to make nine boats in one night???
