When Madya woke up, the first thing she heard was the rustling of leaves. She looked around, wondering where it was coming from. When she looked down at the bottom of the tree, she saw a small group of thwaps playing with each other.
"Just a few thwaps, nothing to be worried about." Madya told herself. She climbed down the tree, and when the thwaps saw her, they all ran in different directions. As Madya grabbed her bag that held all of her supplies, she wondered where she would go.
"Certainly not home, that's for sure." She told herself. Little did she know that someone was watching her. Someone who cared about her, and understood her want of adventure.
Madya walked through the forest, foraging for berries and nuts. After walking for more than 4 hours, she stopped for a break. After eating a few berries, she continued on with walking.
An hour later, Madya came across a small river. She drank some water, then filled up her water skin. She then washed her face, it being covered in a thin layer of dirt. As she washed her face, she heard a sound from behind her. Madya whipped around, her sword in hand. She then heard rustling coming from a bush. When she went to the bush, she discovered a wolf. It saw Madya and growled at her.
"It's ok, I don't want to hurt you." Madya told it. The wolf seemed to sense the pity in Madya's voice, and stopped growling. It lifted up it's front right paw, and Madya could see a large thorn lodged in it. The wolf looked at Madya and whimpered, almost as if it was asking for help.
"Oh! You want me to take it out?" Madya asked it. It whimpered again and looked at her with pain in its eyes. Madya slowly walked towards the wolf. When Madya was right next to it, the wolf made no move for attack. All it did was lift up its paw, showing Madya the thorn again.
"It's ok, can I see your paw?" Madya asked it. The wolf made a sort of bark sound, and lifted up its paw to Madya. She took its paw, and in one quick move, removed the thorn as quickly as possible. The wolf licked its paw, then wagged its tail, while licking Madya's hand.
Madya laughed. "Well, I guess we're friends now. Do you want to come with me?"
The wolf cocked its head at her, then wagged its tail, while barking.
"Well, I guess that's a yes then." Madya said petting the wolf's head. "Well, what should I name you?"
The wolf barked a loud bark.
"Well, first things first. Are you a girl or a boy?" Madya asked it.
The wolf barked again.
"Hmm, bark if you're a boy."
The wolf stayed silent.
"Bark if you're a girl."
The wolf barked a loud, happy bark.
Madya laughed. "Well, how about I name you Yora?"
The wolf cocked her head, then licked Madya's hand.
"Ok then, Yora it is. Are you hungry?" Madya asked her.
Yora sniffed Madya's bag, then whined.
"Yeah, you are probably hungry. Here, all I have are some berries." Madya pulled out a few sugarberries. Yora sniffed them, then slowly ate them.
"You know, you could help me hunt!" Madya said, standing up.
Yora stood up too, and barked while wagging her tail. She then cocked her head, and in one quick move, she jumped into a bush. Madya followed her, and found Yora sitting on the other side of the bush, holding a fazzle dove in her mouth.
"Good job Yora! Fazzle doves taste really good." Madya exclaimed. "Well, I guess I should start a fire to cook it."
Yora went and dropped the bird at Madya's feet, then jogged around the small area they were in.
"Well, if you want to, you could help me find some little sticks for a fire."
Yora looked around at the area, then picked up a large, long stick.
"Well, I can cut it into smaller pieces. But thank you Yora, that is a lot easier!" Madya said, petting the wolf as she sat down next to the stick. Madya looked through her bag, and found her small wood saw. She then went to the stick and tried to cut it, but it kept shifting around. Yora noticed this, and went and stood on the stick, to keep it from moving. Madya smiled at the wolf, and then cut 4 thick pieces of wood. Once she had a nice fire going, she cleaned the fazzle dove and started to cook it.
"Oh, do you want your part cooked?" Madya asked Yora. Yora looked at her and barked.
"I'm guessing that's a yes them." Madya said as she roasted the meat.
After they had eaten, Madya made a makeshift bed out of a pile of leaves. Yora slept next to her, in another pile of leaves.
And that was where Madya learned to never sleep on the forest floor.
That was good! She has a pet now. If only animals were like Yora in real life! 😂
That's one smart wolf! 😄
That was a fun part! Also, is Yora a fang?
I bet Kaladan is following her. 😉
I wish I could befriend a wolf that easily! 😄😄
That was a fun part! Who is following her? What will happen to her on the forest floor??? Will a Toothy Cow attack!?
A wolf? 😍😍😍 Is this wolf related to the Welldrines?
She just happens to have a wood saw, huh? 😂
I expect that dogs like to eat their meat raw. Neat fact: organ meat, especially the heart and liver, are significantly more nutrient rich than muscle meat.
