Artham paced his room, worried out of his mind.
Arundelle was giving birth to their child.
But Artham could not be present for it, due to Annieran traidtion. He had to wait in his and Arundelle's room, until either Nia, Sara, or Leeli would come get him. The three women were assisting the castle nurse in the birth, at Arundelle's request.
A knock at the room door snapped Artham out of his thoughts.
"Come in." He said quietly.
Janner, followed by his wife Sara, came in. Both were smiling as they did.
Artham looked at them. "Is she okay?"
Sara nodded her head. "She is. They both are."
Artham looked confused.
And then it his him.
"The baby's here?" He asked.
Sara nodded her head. "Yep, you can go see them now."
Artham followed them out of the room, and hurried over to the nurses chamber. He then hurried to a room, the room where Arundelle was.
He quietly opened the door, and walked in, to find the rest of his family. Janner and Sara silently walked in behind him.
Artham crossed the room, to the bed where his tired wife and new child lay.
"We have a daughter." Arundelle beamed.
Artham looked at the small child in her arms.
Arundelle smiled, and then held the baby out for Artham to hold her. He gently picked her up, and looked at her.
She had emerald green eyes, just like Artham and Janner had.
"What should we name her?" Arundelle asked.
Artham smiled. "I have a name in mind."
He glanced at Janner, who smiled.
"Madya Wingfeather."
Arundelle looked at the two Throne Wardens. "I'm guessing you two picked it out?"
Janner nodded his head. "Uncle Artham asked me for names. Madya was one that I liked, and he seemed to like it a lot too."
Arundelle smiled.
Artham then looked at his family, and everyone clearly wanted to hold the baby. He decided to let Janner hold her first.
He gently grabbed the baby from Artham, as if she was the most fragile thing in the world.
"Madya." Janner whispered her name, looking at the child. He didn't mention the dream he had only a few days earlier.
The dream had to do with Madya, explaining that she would protect Anniera with all her power.
"This child is strong." Janner explained. "She will protect our land with all her strength and power. It's almost as if...she was chosen for this."
Nobody understood what Janner was saying.
But they would some day.
One day a child would arise, and would be the warrior of Anniera. The chosen child of the Warden. The one who would end the Fangs, once and for all.
"There will come a time
When peace is full and great
The kingdom will rise
But must fall for a time
And one will arise
And restore peace to all
The daughter of the Warden
The Chosen One"
That was what Janner heard in his dream.
😭😊
