Both were silent a long time before Ramger did something very out of character. He reached back behind his own head and began to untie his ponytail. "What are you doing?" Clef asked, his question only answered when he saw what happened next. Once the blue ribbon wasn't holding Ramger's hair back, the hair burst into some of the most unruly curls Clef has ever seen. "I think it's fair to say..." Ramger started, his pristine appearance he usually coined looked more wild, very close to how Clef usually looked without his hair tied back. "We clearly share some... physical attributes." Clef stared at Ramger a long time in disbelief. Ramger stared back with a serious yet anxious look. "Does Captain Sealen share any with you?" He challenged. Clef looked away to think about that question. He pictured in his head what Captain Sealen looked like in hopes he would remember some kind of feature that was unmistakably shared. Captain Sealen Silver-eye had one eye and it was gray but Clef and Ramger shared light blue eyes. Captain Silver-eye's hair was a sandy brown and hay-like in texture but Clef and Ramger shared curly and unruly black locks. Sealen was muscular and a giant but Clef and Ramger were tall and more on the slender side. Silver-eye had a summer tan but Clef and Ramger shared pale complexions. It was clear to Clef that Ramger was serious about his allegation and things were starting to piece together... So he responded honestly. "No... No, he doesn't..." Clef slowly looked back at Ramger, not sure what to think or do. He wasn't sure if he wanted to believe Ramger because that would mean his life had been a lie this whole time. "Then, isn't there a good possibility?" Ramger came to a very big revelation during the time that Clef was thinking, causing his eyes to start to fill with tears. "... That you were only a city over all this time...?" He choked on that last question. Clef stared at Ramger in silence, unable to do anything for a while. He could see the hope in Ramger's eyes and he was worried for him to have his hopes up only to become disappointed again. "What if... I'm not your son?" He finally uttered. "How could you not be?" Ramger replied, by this time covering his mouth with one hand to keep himself from sobbing. "I don't know if I can believe this, Ramger..." Clef looked at the floor. "This is a lot to take in... But if it's the truth... I do want to." "Don't you... Want to know your real name?" Ramger was already convinced and was struggling to contain himself. He wanted to just run over and give Clef a hug but... He knew he couldn't do that, at least not yet. Clef sighed and slowly walked back over to Ramger. "What's your son's name?" He asked with his eyes still to the ground, still trying to fight this information. Ramger took a deep and shaky breath. "I haven't said it in so long..." He wiped his eyes and tried to keep himself from falling apart. "Hendrik Willam Torr of the Torr Dynasty." When Clef heard the name, he looked down at the crest in his hand once again. "My full name is... Ramger Willam Torr... We share the same middle and last name in honor of my great grandfather or rather... your great great grandfather..." Ramger explained, now looking at the crest in Clef's hand as well. Clef's hand clenched around the crest and he looked Ramger in the face. His eyes were pink like he was holding tears back. The sight of this made Ramger lose it. He started to sob like he had done so many times before but this time it was out of joy. Clef sighed as some tears escaped his eyes and he gave his real father a hug. He knew it had to be true. It just had to be. - Celeste by this time had finished the one song before realizing Clef was taking a long time. She looked over at Kinabrick, who also seemed to notice this. "What do you think he lost?" Kinabrick asked Celeste with an eyebrow raised. "I don't know..." Celeste looked toward the higher deck. "Clef hasn't really talked about his past until these past few days... It must of been something he valued..." Kinabrick rose from the barrel he was leaning on and headed for the stairs. "I'll go see what's taking him so long." - Ramger clinged onto Clef and sobbed rather hard for a long time. Clef was crying too but not nearly as much as Ramger. It still hadn't struck him that he has been missing a true father this whole time and he was still digesting it. Ramger, on the other hand, had twenty-four years to think about this moment. For that, he was an utter mess. Kinabrick reached the top of the steps and witnessed this scene pretty much instantly. Finding it very odd that Ramger would hug Clef and vise versa, he picked up quickly something happened. He slowly walked over to the two of them. "What's going on up here?" He asked with a strong voice. "The Lore Wain has been waiting with her newly grown nephew to play him a song-" Ramger looked at Kinabrick with his face a mess and his hair to match. "It's him, Kinabrick! It's him!" He could barely shout with how much he had been sobbing. Kinabrick narrowed his eyes and looked at Clef. "What about him?" "Henry!" Ramger gasped between sobs. "It's him, Kinabrick!" Clef looked over at Kinabrick as well but he was silent because he was still thinking about everything that had happened in that moment. Kinabrick saw Ramger's demeanor to be genuine in believing Clef was indeed his lost son. "Wasn't he the Silver-eye's son?" "No! He stole him!" Ramger blurted very much without his typical elegance. "But it's him, it really is Henry!" Kinabrick looked at Ramger with a sad expression. He knew Ramger had been in hysterics since the death of his wife and loss of his son... But he worried Ramger was jumping to conclusions, which would only hurt him more. "Are you sure Clef is really Hendrik?" Kinabrick asked coolly. "Without a doubt!" Ramger exclaimed. Kinabrick looked at Clef. "And you're suddenly okay with your son's delinquent past?" "Of course not but- it's him! He's not dead, Kinabrick!" Ramger exclaimed again. Kinabrick grabbed Ramger by the arm and pulled him a some feet away from Clef. He whispered to Ramger, "Don't you know what that man has done?" Ramger looked shockingly at Kinabrick. "Of course, I... I've heard a lot about the pied piper..." "While we were at Nala's orchard, he admitted to accidentally killing someone in rage, Ramger." Kinabrick glanced back at Clef and then at his brother-in-law. "If you really think he's your son, you have a lot cut out for you." "Didn't you say he was reformed?" Ramger asked, his joy starting to become crushed upon hearing such news. "Kinabrick, he's been gone so long..." "And don't you think your paranoia and hysteria could be playing tricks on you like it has in the past?" Ramger huffed and yanked his arm away from Kinabrick's grasp. "You surely must think me a fool to suggest my pain is deceiving me!" "I just don't want you to get hurt again." Kinabrick quickly responded with a look of worry on his face. "We searched for months for him before and it wasn't successful. Don't you remember that?" Despite them whispering a few feet away, Clef could still hear this conversation. Upon hearing it, Clef realized what was keeping him from being happy about finding his birth father... He wasn't sure if Ramger would be as proud of him as Captain Sealen was.

That's awfully complex. I wonder what an upstanding person would think if they found out that their long-lost son was a prodigal who (formerly) rejected their values.
