"The Ridgerunner who became a Grey Fang"
Speculations by Zarabean the ridgerunner.
"Entry One
In all my adventures and research, I've never once heard of such a thing. As far as I know, those ancient stones were lost forever. However, after meeting Princess Cynthia of Torrboro, I've come to realize that evil still remains in Aerwiar after all these years. The poor girl experienced such horrors and was nearly transformed into a bird-like creature. We aren't certain what *kind* of bird but that doesn't matter."
"Entry Two
After that last adventure, I've been thinking some strange thoughts. Could one of us ridgerunners become like the Fangs? I fear the answer. After all, how different are humans from ridgerunners besides height and increased cravings for fruit? We both can speak and sing... Surely one of my kind could be bribed into singing such a song.
The results would be utterly terrifying. An abomination. I know my people are fruit thirsty to the point of thievery and, in extreme cases, other desperation. Combine that with a Fang who is highly aggressive and powerful and you might have a serious problem.
That's just my speculation so far. I don't know of any ridgerunners who would actually be willing to turn themselves into a fang. However, I have a bad feeling it has happened before. I'll have to research this more as I go along."
"Entry Three
I couldn't believe my eyes and I doubt anyone would believe me either. Just yesterday evening I wrote down my thoughts on the possibility of a ridgerunner becoming a fang. Well, this morning, I met one. He gave me a nasty slash across my chest when I was foolish enough to follow him but I was able to take a closer look.
The description is follows:
There was grey fur all over the skinny frame of this ridgerunner. To make matters worse, it looked more like a coyote than a wolf and was ten times as crazy. He stole all the fruit I had on me and swallowed them whole! He didn't even chew to savor the flavor! Then he had the audacity to ask if I had more but not without a horrible snarl in his ridgerunner voice. When he realized I had no more, he attacked me and retreated into the forest like he was madly unsatisfied.
I've never seen such a crazy look in a creature's eyes before- apart from my own brother. I can tell you this, you don't want to meet a ridgefang. They're too fast."
😃 I want to meet him!
