A poem found on my adventures, though I can't say I wasn't surprised. In all my research and meandering around Aerwiar, have I ever found a ridgerunner like penmanship as this. Not only does the author dare scorn his own kind and accuse them of great sin but he also dares the reader, whoever they may be, to put aside their horrible ways and give into love. What kind of love exactly, I can't be sure. However, I have a theory. I believe the ridgerunner was speaking about the Maker's love, not fragile human love or weak broken ridgrunner love. No, this creature spoke with great passion about a love he himself had tasted for himself. How I wish I could of met him! He seemed like such a wise little fellow. I must investigate to see if I can not find more works of his. For now, I must share my findings.

True Fruit
by Zarabean the Ridgerunner
"In all the time since the first Epoch Ridgerunners scorned but never squawked Betraying the few friends we knew Because our loyalty was never true
Is life all about fruit? Scavenging, stealing, sneaking for loot? Or could it be something sweeter? Something better than being a cheater?
My friends, there's a better kind of fruit One that comes from better roots A kind that's enduring until the end One that makes a forever friend
Love is the real fruit worth it all It's the only one with a deeper call Something much more valuable is at stake Will you mend what's been broken or will you break?"
Wipes eye* That was so moving.. ๐ญ
Fruit is better!
That was a great intro and very Ridgerunner poem! The frequency of fruit related allegories is very fitting! I also love how in the description you tied in the Makers perfect love! Any kind of human (or ridgrunner) love is a mere weak pale dim reflection of Gods perfect love! I am glad that Zarabean as been able to taste it as I have as wellโฆ๐๐
That was beautiful! Zarabean is a great poet!
That was superb! A lot of truth in it!! ๐
I've never known any other ridgerunner to be such a great poet :)
Words cannot express how much I am in love with this poem! It is so true and I'm glad Bean found the true fruit! Great job!
