Ingredients:
1 lb. split peas, rinsed
2 lbs. ham
1 medium onion
1 t. salt
2 carrots
2 stalks celery
garlic powder to taste
bay leaves
4 c. water
4 c. chicken stock
Directions:
Place peas in stock pot with water and broth. Boil for two minutes. Take off heat and let stand for one hour. Stir in meat, onion, carrots, celery, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling; turn to low and simmer for one and a half hours until peas are tender and water becomes cloudy.
