Ok, I LOVE hot chocolate! But I’ve had a hard time finding an actually good recipe! I mean, they’re all good, but like, a REALLY good recipe. I finally found one! Sorry the measurements aren’t exact. I kinda just add until it’s right.
3/4 c. Heavy whipping cream or half and half
3/4 c. Milk
3 T. Chocolate chips (at least. I use more, though)
Vanilla (maybe 1/2 t.)
a tiny pinch of salt
1. Heat milk and heavy whipping cream on stove Until hot and edges are foaming/bubbling a bit. Do. Not. Boil! The milk will scald and it won’t be as good.
2. Add chocolate chips and stir till fully combined and milk is brown.
3. Add vanilla and salt.
Be careful not to burn yourself! It’s not pleasant 😂.
Really it's not? *puts hand on stove* Ouch!
Chocolate + milk = a little slice of heaven! 😋
The second best hot chocolate recipe you'll ever find (or the best, if you like super dark chocolate or don't want sugar):
1 mug's worth of milk
3/4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate (100% cocoa)
splash of real vanilla extract
1 squirt of liquid stevia (I like Pyure brand)
several dashes of salt
Heat all ingredients in small saucepan over medium heat, whisking frequently. (more frequently if you have a cheap, thin pan!) Pour into mug when hot and enjoy!
Cream can be added if desired. This counts as a breakfast, too, because milk is a food and this hot chocolate contains no refined sugar! Also, because I'm the mom and I said so. But just for me. My kids get oatmeal or eggs or something. 😉
I'll have to try that! Looks good!
Mmmm! 😋
YUM!!
No sugar except for the chocolate chips?
