I think it did, both for spiritual symbolism and because the epilogue hints at it. Why have the epilogue if it wasn't going to work? Oh yeah, and the water takes care of Artham's wings and talons!

I firmly believe that Janner does not represent Jesus, since Janner is just as broken as everyone else in Aerwiar, but his sacrifice is a picture of Jesus' sacrifice for us. So it would also make sense that he would come back to life.

I think it has a pure fifty fifty chance. Personally, I have it work, but I do wish to dabble in a world where it doesn't, and to explore that world a bit. If it does, most things will be very happy, but if it does not, it gives some very interesting character arcs!

I think that Janner definitely came back to life because I think it's pretty obvious he represents Jesus. All the fangs/cloven represent us, the sinful people of this world, because they made a choice to become fangs/cloven, which is like us sinning, but they also made a choice to be saved, which is like us repenting and putting our life into Jesus’ hands. (Remember, not all of the fangs wanted to be saved. They represent people in our world who haven’t put their faith in Christ yet.) So yes, Janner saved all of the fangs/cloven from their fang/clovenness, which is like Jesus saving us from our sins, because the fangs/cloven’s fang/clovenness was a representation of their sin. And obviously Jesus came back, which means that Janner is almost certainly gonna come back too.

honestly, i believe he did come back- for multiple reasons. a) I don't think Andrew Peterson would end the book with hope the way he did if it wasn't implied that Janner was healed. b) i believe that Janners sacrifice and death was supposted to be a parody to Jesus's sacrifice, and thus will not be complete until he resurrects like Jesus did. and c) its just my personaly opinion that he lives because that how i believe Mr. Peterson intended it, but if it helps i kinda imagined that even if Janner was healed, i feel like Leeli would've rejected the well water so that it could be used for others- she had learned to manage and even use what other would call a deficiency to the best of her abilities, and to a certain extent it is a part of her personality and has formed her a lot.
