Okay guys I wanted to point out that I really love Sara in the series and in the books, but one thing I wanted to point out is that they kind of made her character the opposite of what it's supposed to be at times. She's supposed to be more gentle and caring, which she is, but at the same time they kind of tried to make her like a sassy girl boss. Which I feel like we already have Maraly for that role There's nothing wrong with that, but that's not Sarah. I feel like trying to make her act like that in the show was kind of stripping everything I knew about Sara in the books. Again she's not completely different character, but she's just not the same as she is in the books. Change is fine and I understand they changed a lot of characters but I feel like Sara was always somebody I could relate to and I always thought she carried herself with so much grace and they just kind of took that away a little bit. I feel like they should have stuck with her same character in the books, but that's just me.

I sorta just view them as two different characters, with different pros and cons. For the series, new Sarah works better than book Sarah, vice versa.
I see what you’re saying. I really like Sara in the show, BECAUSE she is a sassy girl boss xD. But I do hope they bring in some more of that grace in further seasons XD
I like show Sara more, there wasn’t much background on her in the books. I think she was more of that ‘sassy girl boss’ in the one sports scene. (My brain is so foggy I can’t even remember what the sport’s called) That was just showing a more competitive side. Plus, show Sara has an earlier relationship with Janner leading to a much better and more active character arc. (especially in season three where in theory she be left out until four!)
I do agree that she had more pizazz. I see it more of adding to the character, and not altering existing parts.
If I’m being honest, I kind of like the way they did Sara in the show. She was a good character in the books, but they added more to her character in the show; instead of being just a sweet caring girl, they added a few things to her personality (the feistiness, the playfulness). I also like that they gave her an interest in flowers and games, because it makes her feel more real. And I think they made her more fiery to set up her escape from the Fork! Factory!
So personally, I really like the way they did her character.
I think perhaps they made her more spunky in season 1 of the series in order to more clearly show how the things she goes through later on change and affect her.
