I've never written a poem, so uh, it's not the best. But I liked it enough to not erase it all, does anyone have tips for craeting poetry? And how does this one sound?
Writing and reading: My first poem
Mind overflowing,
With stories of courage,
The soul written down,
With inadequite words.
The pain, the joy,
All laid bare,
On a peice of paper,
As I tug my hair.
My thoughts and feelings,
none of them appealing,
Seen through anothers eyes.
People my own,
A world I call home,
Read by my mind alone.
My greatest wish,
To draw a sword with a swish!
And shout a battle cry!
"For Aslan! Protect!
King reigns!" And more!
Ring in my mind
And I become sore.
Some days,
(The hard ones!)
I wish nothing more.
Than to hide in a book,
My own,
or those,
I have read before.
Cool!
This was beautiful!
This is so good! I love it!
Also, I've written some poems (mostly on the terrorization the gnomes were doing, it was during the gnome age when they took the forum over, you weren't a member yet) and I don't think any of them were this good!
This is awesome! Great first poem! 😁
*burns mine from my memory* LOL
This is amazing! Great job!!
That's really good!!!
abcdefehhijkkllm etc. is the rhyme scheme. I learned about poetry in 9th or 10th grade but I don't remember much of it. You "stress" or "unstress" certain words in the poem. This is an example from "The Destruction of Sennacharib" by Lord Byron.
Red is stressed and green is unstressed.
The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,
And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;
And the sheen of their spears were like stars on the sea,
When the blue wave rolls nightly on deep Galilee.
