This ones kinda short, but it gets better, don't worry! Enjoy!
The five had been sailing in that little boat for about a week or so, and the food they had brought was beginning to run out. There had been no trace of land. Hali had no idea where they could be. Fear slowly began to creep into each of their hearts. Well, most of them anyway.
“Avalee, will you be quite for at least one minute!” Said an annoyed Hali.
Avalee stopped humming. “Why? What’s wrong with my humming?” She asked.
“That’s all you ever do! It’s driving us all mad!” Hali replied.
“I’m only trying to lighten the mood a bit!”
“We’re in the middle of the sea, we don’t know where we are, we’re running out of food, and there is no sign of land. And here you are just humming!” Piped in Kian.
“The Maker will guide us.” She said simply.
Kian groaned.
“That’s what you always say.” He mumbled under his breath. “What?” She asked
“That’s what you always say!” He replied.
“Well it’s true you know!”
“Then why haven’t we found land yet?!”
“I don’t know!”
“You don’t know anything!”
“Oh yeah? Well you-“
“Will you two never stop arguing?” Interrupted Amara, who was sitting next to Casimir at the front of the boat.
“That’s all you guys have done since… well, since forever.” Said Casimir.
Avalee huffed.
“He started it.” She grumbled, crossing her arms.
“You two are actin like children!” Hali said.
“Whatever, all I’m saying is-“Once again, Kian was interrupted by Amara.
“Stop. Look over there.” She pointed to something visible on the horizon. “What’s that?” She asked.
Hali squinted to look at what Amara pointed at. A thin line was forming on the horizon. She stood and squinted harder. Could it be? Yes, it looked like it! Hali laughed a joyful laugh.
“Well, it looks like land!” She exclaimed.
“Land? Really?!” Said Casimir, also standing up, which made the boat sway a bit.
“I can’t be sure till I get a closer look, but it sure does look like it.” She said
“Yes! I knew it! We’re going to be ok!” Said Avalee, standing up as well. This caused the boat to rock even more, and Hali, who was standing closest to the edge, lost her balance and fell into the water with a loud splash.
“Hali!” They all shouted. They all peeked over the edge, trying not to tip over. Hali emerged from the water and laughed. She didn’t know why, but she laughed until everyone was laughing with her.
That would be the last time they laughed together for a long time.
What land are they seeing? Is it Dang? Skree? Some islands???
Why are they not going to laugh together for a long time????
