"What do you think you're doin'?" The man said, rushing to his dock.
Madya saw him coming, and jumped out of the boat, and ran as fast as she could to get away from the man. But Madya was paying much attention to where she was running, and ran straight into a woman. The woman grabbed Madya's hand.
"Trying to steal our boat, eh lass?" The woman said. She didn't look evil, but she certainly didn't look nice.
"Uhh." Was all Madya could say.
"Well, I suppose you look like a runaway. Are you hungry?" The man asked, now standing beside the woman.
"Joe! If she's a runaway, she's probably starvin' !" The woman said.
Joe looked at her. "Well, Hannah, I didn't know what else to say!"
Hannah let Madya's hand go.
"Well, I am a little hungry." Madya said shyly.
Hannah looked at Madya with a little pity. "Lass, follow me, and I'll get you some warm soup."
Madya followed Hannah to the house, where Joe held the door open for her.
"Lass, here, you can sit here." Hannah pulled up a chair for Madya. Joe handed her a blanket.
"So, are you a runaway?" Joe asked.
"Yeah." Madya answered quietly.
"You wanna talk about it?" Joe asked.
"No, not really." Madya answered.
"Ok, that's fine lass." Joe answered. Hannah came up and set a bowl of soup in front of Madya.
"Thank you." Madya said, with a slight smile at Hannah.
Hannah smiled back. "You're very welcome. Now eat, you must be very hungry."
Madya tasted the soup, and it happened to taste delicious. After about 3 more bowls, Hannah and Joe had said that she could stay the night if she wanted. Madya declined their offer, for fear that Annieran soldiers would find her there. She wandered in the forest for about an hour, before she found a tree suitable to sleep in. Once she settled in, she immediately fell asleep.
It would be the best sleep she would have for a very long time.
Joe and Hannah are so nice! Madya really shouldn't have run away.... I mean, her family is so nice! Also, why did she have to run away since she is 19 already? Couldn't she have simply moved out? Anyway, that was good!
