A/N: I THINK MY WRITER'S BLOCK IS GONE!!!!! Also more OC's of mine are coming in.
It was only a matter of time before Janner and his soldiers reached the castle. It was a happy reunion for the whole family. But Madya couldn't wipe the fear that it would be a long time before everyone was together again.
After everyone hugged Janner, they all sat down to discuss the oncoming threat.
The Fangs were on their way, with three times the fleet they had all those years ago.
"I vote that we get the dragons to attack their ships." Leeli said. "I'm sure they'll be glad to help."
"I agree," Janner said. "The dragons will be glad to help, and with as many of them as there are, they'll take out a lot of ships quickly, I bet."
Artham was oddly quiet, thinking of a plan.
Kalmar sighed, and ran his hands through his hair. He was stressed, a lot.
"I think we should give Kal some time to think." Galya said, noticing her husbands irritated look. She turned and looked at everyone. "Alone."
The whole family followed Galya out, but Artham lingered.
"Kalmar, are you alright?" He asked.
Kal shook his head. Artham could tell he was holding back tears.
"Uncle Artham, they're really coming. The Fangs are coming. Please tell me this is all just a long nightmare."
Artham hugged his nephew as Kal let his tears loose.
"It's happening Kal, but you must be strong. Your children need you, as does your wife, and everyone in this family."
Kal sniffled, and quickly wiped his tears. "You're right, I shouldn't be crying. I should be planning, like the king I am."
Artham smiled weakly. "Come on, and if you ever need a moment to think, tell me and I'll get the rest of the family out so you can think."
Kal smiled. "Thank you." He wiped his eyes once more, then walked out with Artham to call the rest of the family back in.
Madya could tell Kal had been crying the moment he stepped out to see the family, but she said nothing about it. Instead she paid attention to Yora, who was quite interested in the books in the library (that was where the family was talking and planning).
"I've been thinking," Janner said, catching everyone's attention.
"What is it?" Sara asked.
"Well, since th Fang fleet is so...big, we should send in a small team to investigate it."
"Define 'investigate'." Nia said.
Janner scratched his chin. "Well, we send in a small team of four or five well-trained Annierans, preferably Durgan-trained, and have them go along the shore and watch the Fang fleet. Then, have them report back to us with some messenger dogs. That way we're still safe but can learn about the Fang movements."
Everyone remained silent, considering Janner's idea. When Kalmar took a vote on whoe agreed, it was unanimous.
"Now to find ourselves a team." Kal said.
Madya spoke up. "I'll go. I can be a part of the team."
All eyes turned to her.
"No." Arundelle said flately. "It's too dangerous."
Madya nodded. "I know, but I'm one of the best trained Durgans, and I know where the Fang fleet is, too. And I have Yora."
The she-wolf looked up at Madya and yipped.
"It isn't a bad idea." Artham said.
Arundelle sighed. "Artham..."
"Arundelle, she'll be fine, I'm sure of it. She's only going to be a scout too."
Arundelle sighed, then agreed.
"Well, looks like we've got a team leader. Now you've got to find us a team." Kal said.
Madya grinned. "Give me a few hours and you'll have a perfectly good team."
William Lothain was a regular Annieran young man. He had stormy grey eyes and sandy brown hair, and a slight build.
His family owned a small farm outside of Lorryshire, a sea town in Anniera. Everyone expected William to take over the farm once his parents passed away, but that was not what he wanted.
William wanted to become a Durgan.
He had taken the entire Durgan training, and knew everything about fighting and sneaking. He was, one of the best fighters in Anniera.
His family, though poor, was very good friends with the Wingfeather family. Sometimes they even bought food that the Lothain family grew at their farm. So, William had grown up with Madya.
So when Madya came by his farm asking for his help with a Durgan mission, William was more than inclined to go help his friend, and his country.
Kaian Peyra was originally Skreean, but his family had moved to Anniera after the Fangs were gone. His younger sister had been taken by the Black Carriage, and ever since that night he had a special loathing for Fangs. He fought them whenever he could, but by the Maker's grace he was never taken by the Carriage.
Kaian was very tall, and had a slight build. He had black hair, and dark green eyes.
Kaian was a few years older than Madya, but they were still good friends. He was also friends with William, so when the two rode on their horses over to the Peyra estate and asked for his help on their team, he quickly accepted. Kaian was known for being a great shot with a bow, so Madya, being semi-good with a bow, wanted his help.
Now there was a team of three.
Elmara Xior was quick on her feet. Simple as that. She could run faster than most women, and faster than some men. She was shorter than her friends, but wise. And full of knowledge. Mostly about plants and what wild foods were safe. She was one of Madya's best friends, and was like a sister to William and Kaian. Elmara had short brown hair, and brown eyes. Her family ran a small booth in downtown Rysen, and her father was an international trader. So basically he would go around Aerwiar and buy stuff then bring it back to Annieran to sell.
When Madya came by her house with William and Kaian, and asked if she would join their team, Elmara quickly agreed to help.
One more team member to go.
Beric Atréides was a known hunter in Anniera. He was still young, only 18, but he was strong and wise. He knew the woods of Anniera better than anyone, except Madya of course.
Beric had blonde hair and blue eyes, and a slight build.
Madya immediately wanted her last team member to be Beric, and so when she and the other three team members came by his family house and asked if he would help, he agreed.
Now the team was complete.
I must make a portrait of the entire team now, with Yora too.
