"Well, wut should we do now?" The green fang asked.
The grey fang sat in the tree thinking. "Well, you could go down there and bite that cow, and that'll finish it off."
"Yesss, but I was talking about the man."
"Oh, well let's finish the cow off, then we'll get him. I saw him climb into that tree." The grey fang said, pointing to a nearby tree.
Madya watched all of this from her tree, and was trying to hear as much of the fangs conversation as possible. She was having a hard time of it though, since the toothy cow would not stop mooing. Yora was nowhere to be seen, but Madya was glad for that, because it meant that Yora was safe.
"Well, let'ssss go down there and I'll bite dat cow." The green fang said, climbing out of the tree. The grey fang followed.
Once they were in position, the grey fang distracted the cow, while the green fang went and bit it. It collapsed to the ground. The fangs then went to the tree that the man had climbed.
"You! Warden! Come down here now!" The grey fang bellowed.
Silence.
"Come down here now before I go up there and get you!"
Silence.
The fangs looked at each other.
"Do you think he got away?" The green fang asked.
"No, that jump to the other tree is way too far for a human to jump. He probably is just sitting in the tree hoping we wont hear him, and that we'll just leave." The grey fang said.
"Makesssss sssensse." The green fang replied. The two fangs began to climb the tree, when out of nowhere a large stick flew out of another tree and pinned the green fang to the tree trunk. It killed him, and his body turned to dust. The grey fang whipped around and drew his sword, not knowing what to do. Madya could tell that he was scared, and honestly, she was too.
The grey fang sniffed the air, then grinned.
"Warden, you're god at this. Too good. You may think that you can best a grey fang too, but you can't-" The grey fang was cut off as another sharp, long stick flew out of nowhere and pinned him to the tree. His body turned to dust.
Madya looked around the area, and saw the man drop out of a tree. She saw who the man was, and froze.
Nia sat there, watching Sara pace the floor with worry. Nia wasn't just worried about Janner, or Madya. She was worried for Sara. Everyone was worried for her. She was refusing to eat now, and hadn't gotten much rest.
"Sara, you need to eat. Now." Nia said firmly.
Sara sighed. "I'm not hungry."
"That doesn't matter. Eat."
"No."
Nia sighed. Everyone else watched in silence as Sara paced the floor, and Nia sat in her chair, hopeless.
Arundelle spoke up. "Sara, I know you're worried, but not eating or getting rest will only add to that worry and pain."
"I feel fine."
"Right now you do, but later it could hurt you."
"If that happens, then I'll deal with it."
Arundelle sighed. Sara was too stubborn, like Janner in a way. Leeli and Thorn sat there, wondering where Janner and Madya were. Artham, Kalmer, and Galya sat there wondering if maybe they should go out and keep looking. Nia sat there hopeless for her daughter-in-law, wondering how things could get any worse.
And that was when the Captain of the Palace Guards came in with more bad news.
Is Janner the one who was in the tree??
Grey Fang!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 You had so much to live for! This is Sheril all over again! *glares at @Kylie Anne (Kaladan)*
