Chapter 48 The War Continues
“What's the matter Wingfeathers? Do the Titanium Fangs intimidate you?” Opal asked mockingly. Janner didn't know what to do, theTitanium Fangs were much stronger than anything they've ever gone up against and they were way outnumbered. The only thing he could do was fight.
“Now!!!” Opal shouted at the Fangs and they started to run. But the Wingfeathers were ready, they held their swords in the air, and Esben signaled for the arrows to be shot, but what they soon realized was that arrows just bumped right off the side of the Titanium Fangs.
“Arrows don't work on these things!” Kalmar said, getting more and more worried and freaked out about their situation.
“Looks like it.” Janner said feeling sick to his stomach for the fact that they were actually going through with this.
“Well there's nothing we can do now, we just have to try our best.” Esben said, as he got ready to swing his sword. They all got in their positions, and waited for the Fangs to come near them. When they were close enough Kalmar did the honors (though he could barely say anything he was so terrified), of yelling the battle cry, “For The Shining Isle! and for The Maker!” and that cry started the war.
They fought and fought and raced through the crowd of Titanium Fangs and Shapeshifters and creatures that were unrecognizable. There was one that Janner thought looked like a rhino that was merged with a fly. A flyno maybe, he thought, then something terrifying came marching across the field. They all looked up in horror to see that Opal had not only created Titanium Fangs but she had created Titanium Trolls.
“What in The Shining Isle!” Janner said, as he looked up at the horrifying creatures. It looked like a normal troll, sort of. It was all silver and metal and it was carrying two gigantic heavy solid iron clubs. And its teeth were sharper than glass. And the size of them topped real trolls or any creature they've ever seen. They were taller than the Dark Castle of Darkness, taller than the Castle of Kimira, and just from seeing the ruins of it, taller than Castle Rysen! Their feet were the size of 10 Toothy Cows, and their hands were the size of buildings. The only nice thing about the Titanium Trolls was the smell. Regular trolls usually smell worse than maggot loaf mixed with rockroach saliva.
“How do you like my trolls?” Queen Opal asked, smiling at them with such a sly smile that it made Janner just snap. He wanted so badly to just kick the ground and throw a stone at that giant. But he knew if he did that would only make things a hundred times worse.
“How are we supposed to fight Titanium Fangs, Shapeshifter Owls, and Titanium Trolls?!” Kalmar asked, as he had to protect himself from a Titanium Fang by tilting his sword sideways against the Titanium Fangs’ shield. He managed to gather enough strength to push the Titanium Fang over by pushing his sword against the shield.
Unfortunately, none of the Wingfeathers knew the fact that the Titanium Fangs couldn't be destroyed by force. The Titanium Fang after 1 minute of recovery boosted himself up on his legs and snarled at Kalmar, which made him shriek like a Squeak.
“I have an idea!” Artham said to the Wingfeathers and then turned to Arundelle who had been fighting a Titanium Fang while occasionally looking over at them to make sure they were okay. Artham walked over to her, hugged her and took off flying through the sky.
“Where is he going?” Leeli asked, looking at her uncle flying, wings stretched out through the sky.
“I have no idea. My brother does a lot of things that I don't know why he does.” Esben said, shaking his head remembering all the times when they were kids, when the two of them used to go on crazy adventures, and their parents scolded them for making a mess of the castle.
They kept swinging and swinging their swords but nothing would kill the titanium things. At each blow that knocked them to the ground, they just got up again fiercer and stronger than they had been before.
(Incrediblaly funny and cute scene cut because mods....)
“Where is Uncle Artham?” Leeli asked, she was worn out and tired and her leg hurt from running on it too much.
“I'm sure Mr. Artham will be right back.” Sara said, trying to cling on to their last bit of hope that they still had.
“Right back! He’s been gone for 3 hours!” Kalmar said as he swung his sword across one of the Fangs but did nothing more than just make the Fang growl and hiss at him.
“He's coming back, he always comes back.” Janner said, trying as well to cling on to the hope. Though in the back of his mind he was doubting if Artham would actually come back. Then they heard something loud, something that made the ground shake. They all turned their heads to see that Artham was soaring in the sky and below him was the entire Troll Kingdom marching towards them. Ooood was leading the way.
“Oood!! you're back!” Kalmar said, with a wide smile at the trolls and then hitting a Fang behind him with a sword, not turning to look at him he just did it. Artham landed right in front of them all smiling and said
“Why does Opal get to have the fun of trolls? We can have fun too!”
“Oh you're the best!” Esben said.
“I missed you so much brother!”
“I missed you too!” Artham said. “Now let's do this thing!”
They all had a new surge of confidence as the trolls were on their side. This opened a new strategy for Janner's conglomeration of theories, facts and plans in his mind. For if the trolls couldn't defeat the Fangs by force, maybe just maybe their smell would.
The trolls, although they smelled like maggot loaf and Toothy Cow pie, did actually help a lot. They knocked over the Fangs which made it easier for the Wingfeathers to pin them down. Although they did get back up again, they were meaner than they were before. but it did seem to help.
Opal seemed to notice this and from the hill she was on, she muttered to herself, “Oh, how cute, they actually think they can defeat me. Ha! they don't know what I have up my sleeve. Let the games begin, Wingfeathers, let the games begin.” she said, with an evil grin and laughed a laugh only that could come from evil.
The underlined is gonna be a key line in the trailer:)
