I go both ways, half the times it's like, oh hey guys I have this great idea that will definitely backfire, and then the other half the time it's like, NO GUYS PLEASE THATS SUCH A BAD IDEA.

It probably wouldn't translate to that if you were to put it in modern terms. They did a literal translation which isn't necessarily what the writer of Beowulf intended to say since they spoke differently back then.

That's right. There may have been others but they have since been lost to time. There is also the Finnesburg Fragment which is from around the same time since it contains many of the same characters. That is what Tolkien's Finn and Hengest is about.
