I am back and got the second book for the first time. So far, I've read through chapter 4.
Please don't spoil anything past chapter 4. THANK YOU!
For those who haven't seen these entries, these are my thoughts as I go through the Wingfeather Saga for the first time. Enjoy experiencing it with me! Anyway, onto the review.
The book opens weeks after I left off in book 1, still at Peets castle. Man, I love Peet so much. So, now I know about the throne warden thingy ish and that Peet is APPARENTLY the children's uncles. The jewels being the kids was obvious but to be fair, the Fandom will spoil without restraint on Facebook (more my fault for joining the group before finishing the books but I digress. Also, I'm exaggerating on the spoiling without restraint thing.) So they're royalty. I love that they were doing drills and actually training the children to survive... almost like they should of been doing that all in the first place but the secret needed to be kept right?
Back to Peet, whom turns out to be Arthum. I feel him. People calling my name makes me want to run away screaming too sometimes. Very cool dude, lots of respect for this wild guy. It's nice that Nia is slowly trying to reintroduce him into the family and help him- almost like they should of been doing that to begin wi- okay I'll stop. I know they have their reasons and in their place I wouldn't know all the answers either. I'd be crying in a corner somewhere... LIKE PEET.
Anyway.
Curious. Oskar isn't dead. This series has a way of making you think someone is dead and then they aren't. Nugget dead? No. HE'S DOGZILLA NOW. Podo dead? No, MAGICAL WELL WATER. Oskar dead? No, INNKEEPERS SAVE HIM. I like that you guys aren't dead.
Now, Nugget, I was sad at first but then I realized you were the reason the kids were in this place to begin with so I thought it was better you died because you kept getting them in trouble. But hey, you're a big dog now and you're more useful. (Note: I love dogs and my opinion of Nugget before his super growth potion doesn't reflect all dogs and I liked him even before. Just like him better now that he's useful.) WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO RIDE A DOG INTO WAR? Surely I wouldn't pass the opportunity.
Also, Zouzab. I hate him.
That is all!
Zouzab is worse than if you crossed Grima Wormtongue with Speedy Gonzolezze.
