Alright y'all. Let's talk ending. Thoughts? Feelings? Tears? No tears?
-should the ending be classified as sad or happy?
-is the ending satisfying?
-should Mr. Peterson have written more?
-do we want another sequel (even though we know we can't have one) or do we find it complete?
-above all... do we think the water from the well works?? and if so, how/why??
Confession time! I read the end before I finished the fourth book!
There I said it.
Anyways,
I look ahead in books. And when I saw he died, I was depressed for about an hour. Then my younger sister ,who had read the whole book, noticed I was sad. I told her and she said “didn’t you read the ending?” I said “Yeah! That’s why I’m sad!” she goes “No! I mean after that!” “THERES AN AFTER THAT?!?!” She was talking of what Kalmar idea was and how they go to the first well. From then on we believe that the first well brought Janner back. So that’s my story. The end. And she lived happily ever after to the end of her days. (Hey! Where have I heard that before? 😉)
Let's talk ending: Gravestone with radiation warning sign.☢️
-Sad. Very, very sad.
-NO!
-I can understand why he didn't, because the way that he ended with the epilologue would make it very hard (maybe even impossible) to write what happened right after.
-We need a sequal set sometime later, but still gives us the satisfaction of knowing that Janner lived.
-Yes! I think it does, although I have no idea how.
I wanted to cry so badly after reading the ending. It was definetely bittersweet, but still very painful. I don't think I've fully recovered since.
Definitely bittersweet. Was really sad, until the epilogue brought the happy (hope). I think it definitely is the perfect ending to a great series. As for if the water from the first well works? We'll never know, Peterson has officially stated he will leave the ending as it is, leaving the reader to decide. I personally like to believe it works.
Sa-no, happy. Sappy. I mean, tears of joy. Yes. And no. It's the best ending we could've got, I think he's right to stop it there. I'll answer both of these with "it's pretty complete, but several more tales would not be bad at all" Yes, because Janner is a Christ type.
SAD!!!
NO!!
Um...im not sure!
I wouldn't mind one more!
I think it might!
