The TV Series Discussion category is still the place for the book series discussion, right?
I have two friends with dyslexia who have started reading The Wingfeather Saga, and they both said it's REALLY difficult to read because of all the made up words. One of them ended up buying the audiobooks and is enjoying them that way, but the other one just hasn't gotten very far at all. It never would have occurred to me that made up words would make it so hard for a dyslexic person to read, but it makes sense! I still like all the made up words, so I hope my other friend can get the audiobooks, too!
Hmmm... this needs a question to allow for good discussion... do any of you have dyslexic friends? Do you have dyslexia? And for everyone: what is your favorite made up word in the series?
i think i have a mild case of dyslexia. i took an online test recently and i got 4 of 6 positive tests.
Hhmm. . .It was really fun seeing all the different types games and animals, but I'm not sure I have a favorite, although my dad regularly makes puns off of Aerwiar as in when we go somewhere he'll say "'Aer-we-are"😂
I think I've known people who have dyslexia. I'm not sure if I have it. Sometimes I'll accidentally read a word as a word that's spelled similar to it, but isn't the same word. Maybe I'm just reading too fast.😂
I don't think that I know anyone who has dyslexia who's read WFS.
Squeeblin is a fun one! 😂
I have a friend who might be dyslexic, but I just got her to read the books and she loved them!
I think holore and holoel are both really beautiful words :)
My sister is dyslexic and she only recently got into reading. I don't think she had much trouble reading the books, but if she did, she didn't tell me.
Thwap is obviously the best made-up word 😎
I used to have a friend that was dyslexic, and she had a really hard time reading any books at all.
Hmm... I'm not sure... There are SOoo many! But my favorite is probably Squeeblin.
Hmmm.....I like tuluray
My dad is dyslexic.
