Hi! So I've been thinking about what the Shining Isle might have looked like specifically the castle. I've always imagined it to be of a European style, possibly Swedish due to Peterson being Swedish himself. What do you think? Do you remember if there were any passages in the books that described it?

"The castle?" Artham closed his eyes. "It's beautiful. It looks like it grew straight out of the stone itself. Spires, flags flapping in the east wind, smoke from chimneys, and children laughing in the courts. It's a peautiful blace. How I song to lee it again."
~ "Story Time with Artham", The Warden and the Wolf King, page 203
The Castle Rysen looked like the skeleton of a giant beast, its rib cage open to the gray heavens. The roof had burned away long ago, and all but a few of the stone arches had collapsed. Heaps of rubble, the charred remains of rafters and timbers, broken glass, and blackened furniture were strewn in every direction. Leeli saw what used to be a courtyard, littered with sodden splinters of chairs or tables where Annierans had once danced and feasted.
~ "The Isle of Anniera", The Warden and the Wolf King, page 376
Then they saw the castle. The children had been there only the day before, but now Janner really saw it - and what a beauty it must have been! What was left of its walls rose out of the very stone, as if the castle had been a living thing, sprouted from the island's bedrock. Now those walls were jagged and broken, but it was easy to picture the large roof they must have once supported.
Nia stopped and gathered the children close. She pointed out where the highest spires once stood, where the courtyard once opened onto a grand garden in which the people rested after their days in the fields, where she and her court fed them feasts of game and the fruit of the forests and they sang under the stars and the rising moon.
~ "Sailing Home", The Warden and the Wolf King, page 449
How's that? ๐
Maybe it looked like a burned and destroyed castle?
Yeah, I imagined generally the same thing. I also thought of it to be a lot like "Cair Parevel" in Narnia. Very grand, lots of white collums, spiraling towers, and balconies that look out onto the ocean.
I can't remember any passages of it though... ๐
I always imagined a pile of burning rocks.
I would imagine that it looks Annieran.
Hmm, not off the top of my head...
