So I finally finished reading Wingfeather Tales, and here's what I thought.
The prince of Yorsha Doon:
Pretty good. I liked the plot and setting. Oskar was in it, which makes it like 10x better! Don't have too much to say about it other than I really liked it.
Willow Worlds : This one didn't really make much sense to me, since I've never read 100 Cupboards, if that's even what it's called. 😅
From the Deeps of the Dragon King: I really like this one. I think the author captured Podo's dark past perfectly and how he lost his leg makes sense. Pretty awesome.
The wooing of Sophilia Stupe: So hilarious! NEVER TRUST A SQUEEBLIN! The only thing that didn't make sense was then end. Like, she just jumps though a magic tree to a different realm and stays there forever? Like, what??
Shadowblade and the Florid Sword: This was one of my favorites. I loved the comic. The art was great. I was cool to see how Maraly and Gammon were after the books.
The Balad of Larnic and Rube: This was really funny and made me laugh. I liked the rhymes and the story. It had a good moral too.
Places Beyond the Maps: Ok, where do I start. This story was really just overall depressing. I was sad the whole time. There were so many run on sentences and repeated words, which made it hard to read. I did appreciate the fact that Sara's father went to redem himself after he messed up. Also, if Layna went with the Bard, why didn't she tell Sara about her dad? I really did like the end when he saw Sara as a princess. That hit pretty hard for me.
Overall, I really liked the book, but of course, TWS is much better. I might have forgotten some stories, so if I didn't, go yell at me in the comments.
I loved the entire book, but I really had mixed feelings about the last story. I loved getting to see Armulyn, and getting to see Sara as a princess, as well as Sara's dad, but I do agree that it was overall really depressing
