Well, now we know if Nibbick will be doing the right or wrong thing :( Again, a shorter chapter, but I hope you still like it
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: THE FIGHT
Artham saw Podo take Esben and Emerald in his wagon, and he proceeded to walk to the designated meeting place.
His heart was beating quickly, his mind was fluttering between every single possible way this could go. “He might pound the heck out of me again, or he might genuinely apologize, or he might…I don’t know what. Tease me about the letter, I suppose. I can handle that…maybe.”
He saw Nibbick standing there, with a big smirk on his face.
“‘Ey there Artham.”
“Hello, I’m here. What do you want to talk about?”
“Straight to the point.”
“I prefer it that way. Look, I’m sorry for my part in the fight.”
“Hmm. Such a noble soul. That why that Arundelle girl so smitten with ya?”
Artham could feel his color rising. “She is not smitten with me. She’s just my friend. That’s all.”
“I’m sure. Well, you know Artham, I’m sorry for everything too.”
Nibbick smiled at him and began walking towards Artham, who tensed up immediately. Nibbick extended his hand to have Artham shake it, but there was an odd look in his eye.
Artham went to take the hand, but he knew it was a mistake when he felt the grip of his hand. And then the fight began.
“This is a rematch for walloping me!” Nibbick’s shouted, pure fury in his eyes, pinning Artham to the ground.
Artham was not prepared at all, so he was at a disadvantage. But not for long. He used all of his strength and pushed Nibbick back, not wanting to hit him, but ready to defend himself.
And Artham’s defense was paying off. He soon began to prevail in the tussle, and Artham was hoping it would be over soon and he could get out of this mess.
But Nibbick now knew Artham’s strength set. And one of his friends came up out of nowhere, seized Artham from behind, and threw him to the ground. Two against one is never fair. Never. And Artham was now at a serious disadvantage, and he knew he was. Especially when he felt a searing pain in his ear and his leg and his shoulder. He knew something was broken, and he felt like Nibbick’s sneers and taunts were coming from somewhere underwater.
But eventually, it all disappeared from his mind, and unconsciousness slipped in, and Artham was seeing stars…….
Heh…….heh…..yeah. Nibbick’s a bit of a bad guy 😅
