SPOILERS AHEAD!
This is something that I have debated over many many times, and I want to hear your opinions. Do you think it could’ve healed Artham’s hands? Do you think it could’ve healed Leeli’s foot?
What gets me confused is that even though those limbs weren’t how they were supposed to be, do they really count as injurys? I mean, neither of them causes any pain, and the only thing we’ve seen the Well Water do is heal cuts and stabs (like Podo’s cut around his middle, Nugget, and in the show it heals Mr. Reteep), so I’m wondering how the Well Water would react to Artham or Leeli’s case.
What do you guys think?
Hmm...you raise a very good point...
So, in the case of well water, one has to wonder if it could even heal Janner, because being dead is not exactly an injury either.
But
The Maker is in charge of the well water. So, if He wills for Leeli and Artham to be healed, they will be. So, really, I think it just depends on the Maker's will, because they are not injuries, and without either of those things, the Wingfeather Saga would be a different story entirely.
That was a bit long 😅
Here's a cookie! 🍪
I always thought that Artham got healed.
(oh, for a taste of first well water)
Honestly…..
I have no clue
YES. Artham can not keep those wings. As for Leeli, her leg was already healed, but healed the wrong way. The leg would have to be rebroken.
Andrew Peterson was once asked about why the family didn't use the Well Water to heal Leeli's leg, and he said it was because her leg had already been healed; it had just healed wrong. (My friends think they should have re-broken Leeli's leg and then poured the water on it! 😂)
I think the water would heal Artham. When he found the well, he had the feeling that the water would remove the talons and quiet the voices, but refused to drink it as long as his brother was still broken (TMitH p. 306). SPOILER: In the epilogue, Artham says, "They say it heals - and maybe even more. I've wanted to taste it for a long time." I think this is a hint that it can and will heal Artham. And I've got a whole post about why Artham must drink it and get rid of his wings here.
I could see it going both ways, but since the water
SPOILER
restored the dragons' wings and Hulwen's long-healed scars, I think it would be possible for the water to heal Leeli's leg. Maybe Artham too. The fact that he's still a cloven kind of feels like a cliffhanger to me and I wonder what Andrew Peterson thought about that.
Well, I thought maybe it counts only if you did not intentionally inflict the wound? If the water could heal cloven and Fangs, that takes a lot from Janners sacrifice!
I dont think it could heal Artham... that being said Artham seemed to have accepted his cloveness by the end of the series so I dont think he would have much of a problem staying a cloven. I do think Leeli would be able to be healed by the well water but her's is more of an injury that was never able to be healed correctly...
you might want to add a spoiler warning, you can go to the three dots at the top of the post and click edit to edit it in. but I think it could. it may not, but I think it could be possible
I don't think so...
And I have a extremely weird headcanon that Leeli was offered healing but refused it because she wanted to remind people of the consequences of not forgiving each other...
"the blood of the beast imbues your bones"
or something of that sort.
if you consider defects/problems with blood as injuries you could assume he could have been healed.
i think not tho.
leelis leg could definitely be healed tho.
