she gotta be a special kinda ugly if that's the case😠especially if he did survive. Personally I think he did but that's probably me not willing to except his death. I was traumatized after finishing that book, for days I mourned the loss of Janner😂 part of the reason that I think the well does work is at the end Kalmar seems so hopeful that he'll be with his brother again. I can't imagine the Wingfeather family going on an adventure after the last book just for it to fail. That'd be like Janner dying all over again, i refuse to except that. Also I'm currently rereading TWatWK and I'm dreading coming to the endðŸ˜part of me wants to just read 90% of the book and skip the end...if i don't read it, it didn't happen.
I'm not exactly sure. Speaking from a meta-perspective and as an aspiring author, I feel like Andrew kinda painted this question into a corner (maybe accidentally, maybe not).
See, if Janner is revived, then how can you tell that story in an interesting way? What is the tension and the conflict driving that tale? Somehow, you need to drag out the situation and add some sort of plot, but there isn't anything setting up a conflict. So, the story would sadly fall flat.
But if Janner died? Well, then you can't very well tell a story that's just about that; you should've left out the possibility of resuscitation all together if that was the plan. So the well should work if you're going to tell that story.
But maybe you just timeskip ahead? Well, if the well worked, then timeskipping past that would feel disorienting and weird. But if it failed, then that will have to add a mournful note to the story, and if it's the point of the story, then you'll have to tell a sad, contemplative tale.
It's just a really tricky situation to write through, I feel. Which basically just means we're left in limbo unless/until someone can walk through that path very carefully.
Perhaps, but it could also serve as a dark and secretive hint to the fact that he doesn't live for much longer (and thus has no time to move past this event)
Nothing in particular. It was more of an "oof" moment, considering that for all we know, Janner might be dead for good. (Maybe not, but Peterson won't tell... the absolute nerve! Tut tut....)

I think that's proof he lives longer, but there is a ton of evidence that I found, I made a post about it...
Maybe it haunted him for the rest of his life that lasted more than just one more week?
That may be a hint that Janner survives as the statement loses a lot of meaning if he dies a week later.
And your conclusion is . . . ?
