Spoilers for anyone who has not read TWatWK!
First off, I didn’t really know what category to stick this post in, so I just went for TWatWK discussion because that book is where we find out the most about Annieran traditions.
Alright, so here’s the real issue. What would happen if the royal family of Anniera adopted!? I mean, it would be pretty simple if it was a baby, cuz the adopted baby could go into the next spot. But what if! (I’m not sure the royal family is allowed to do this anyway) what if, the adopted child was older than Song Maiden/Master, King/Queen or Throne Warden! There are a bunch of different scenarios here, like if the royal kids are already older, or if they are still toddlers when the adopted child comes…anyway, a thought to consider for you guys.
I agree with JM, but that’s a valid question! But you also have to consider the Maker’s ways as well. I don’t think there’s anything SPECIFIC in the first book about the openers of the Fane of Fire being BLOOD-RELATED. But only the second-born can enter the Fane. And because the Maker’s way is to bring goodness out of evil and sorrow (“Where there’s a pit, the Maker digs a well,” to quote Artham). So I think it would be His way, if the Annieran royal family adopted for whatever reason, they really would become part of the Annieran royal family… I also think with the Throne Warden, High King, and Song Master/Maiden, there would be a bit of controversy.
But I’m not sure. This is a good question😂
To open the Fane, the first three need to be blood-related. My guess is any who have been adopted would be honorary Lore Wains.
However, in the case of Sara, she would probably be raised similar to Leeli, but with each of the THAGS bearing an equal weight (as opposed to their focus being heavier).
Probably what Ickaw said, but I'm not sure🤔
Then the Throne Warden would become the High King and the adopted child would become the Throne Warden 🤪
Maybe they are made an honorary lore wain or something? The first 3 are needed for the fane-opening thing, and it seems like those three need to be blood-related? That's just my wild guess though
