As a man who has had one too many streaming services, having to pay for Guild status on Angel Studios to watch Season 2 is something I did not do.
Will Season 2 ever be available for free?

I don't want to have to pay to watch the show.

It will eventually be available for free! They are not very well funded for season 3 (a very small percentage of season 1 viewers paid it forward), so they are trying to get further funding by first making it available in the guild, next releasing the DVD, and finally making it available for free.
If you don't own a season 1 DVD and want to buy one, I think there's a package deal going on where you get one month of guild along with your purchase of a DVD. (The guild is normally 12 dollars a month)
It is indeed fantastic (there are even some word-for-word moments with the books!) :)
They said that it will be available for free around late summer this year.

IT’S GREAT! Much better than season 1! They go along with the book very well and quote from it often. You’ll deeply enjoy it!
