September 2022 has been a great month for The Thwap House! We love to see all the wonderful things our members are doing. This month has seen an incredible amount of impactful and creative activity. Now that we’re moving on to October, that means that contestants for the Thwap House T.H.A.G.S. Contest have only one month left to submit their short stories. Better get writing!
By the start of September, the Story of the Mittens of Nowheir (written by our illustrious member, Janna the Heart) had reached part 6 and was really taking off. Since then, it has become an iconic part of the forum, keeping readers excited and impressed at the same time.
This story shifted the content of The Thwap House and caused a few of our members to introduce their own iconic character from the days of when they would chat on the WFS Livestreams. Gertrude Mcgillicudy has made a clear impression on everyone with her fiery hair, strong accented family members, and unmistakable green glasses. Besides Gertrude, our own Official TTH Editor, Samuel N, has been inspired to make his own original story series entitled ‘Wizards of Alandria’. On top of these, there has been a lovely sprinkling in the past month of creative poems from our members.
Throughout the month of September, our site has been offering a variety of fun polls about everything from favorite Fangs, hobbies, characters, Wingfeather-inspired foods, and thwap species. These can be found in the Polls and Contests section of the forum.
Next comes the unexpected storm. Memes. It started when Samuel N posted three Wingfeather Saga memes he had created. Then other members were inspired to make their own, and The Thwap House now boasts a pretty decent collection of memes. A vast majority of these memes crossover with the family friendly smash hit Veggietales, because, of course, it’s Veggietales. The Thwap House Team has organized a good amount of these into one spot which you can find under Site News.
As September was drawing to a close, our two resident orc members, Azog the Moderator and Lurtz the Launderer, offered another type of creative project. The two of them curated a series of stop motion Lego videos portraying comedic sketches inspired by Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” trilogy. These can be found in the Crafts and Creations section of the forum.
We also received a shipment full of shiny new Badges this month. The Durgan Guild, Bookbindery Guild, Royal Bard, Lore Wain, TTH Author, and TTH Songwriter badges are now obtainable. They are explained in further detail in the Help section of the forum.
Again, the due date for the T.H.A.G.S. Contest Fall 2022 is November 1st. More information and details can be found on the contest’s post in Polls and Contests. We are so grateful for Kalmar Wolf King, Janna the Heart, Kylie Knobloch, and the efforts of everyone who is participating in this event for fans of The Wingfeather Saga. We would love to have more contestants join the fun!
As always, we are looking for ways to improve the site all the time, so reach out to us with any suggestions. We are glad to have you as part of our community and look forward to seeing what you all come up with next month!
Sincerely,
The Thwap House Team
